Today is the Best Day of My Life

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalms 118:24). The Jewish tradition at the Passover feast, which still continues, was to sing, “This is the day (that a sacrifice is made for our sins) We will rejoice and be glad in it.” We as Christians as we observe the Lord’s Supper can also sing “This is the day (the day on the cross when a one-time sacrifice was made for our sin) We will rejoice and be glad in it.” “In it” does not just refer to rejoice in the morning but we should rejoice in all the day. Notice the Bible emphasizes day, not week, month, or year. Day is mentioned in 1,540 verses. There is wisdom is numbering our days (Psa. 90:12).Each day seconds soon become minutes, and hours. Soon days become a week, a month, and a year. This day will soon will pass and never return. What have you done today? What have you left undone todayThis day are you prepared to meet the Lord? Each day our stops and our steps are directed (Psa. 37:23). Our breaths and deaths can suddenly cease (Heb. 9:27). Realize in just a few moments eternal changes can happen and your life will never be the same again. Your decisions determine your directions and destinations. Yesterday’s moments can become tomorrow’s memories. This day consider those whose once lived as you now live. Time is passing and precious. Realize what really is valuable. God is only interested in people. The best things in life are not things, but people. Don’t love things love people. Invest your passing, priceless, precious moments in your family and friends. We need one another. I need you. You need me. We all need the Lord. There is wisdom in numbering our days so we will not have regrets of wasted, unused yesterdays. Each day we should acknowledge the Lord before others (Prov. 3:5-6). The greatest testimony to the world is a changed, consistent, Christian life. You cannot change the past but you can change the future. Live so you will not be ashamed of yesterday or afraid of tomorrow. One man prayed, “Lord thank you for this new day. It is a day I have never had before.” One lady said, “Today, is the best day of my life.” A little boy asked, “What about the time you were married?” She answered, “That was my best day then, but today is now my best day, and tomorrow again will become my best day.” So let’s begin each day with “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Then take a deep breath. You still have life. Look up and thankfully say, “Today, is the best day of my life. Let’s begin each day this year with, “This is the day which the LORD hath made, we (I) will rejoice and be glad in it.” Say aloud to the Lord, “Today is the best day of my life, and this year is the best year of my life. I will rejoice and be glad in it”
