Stand Where It’s Right To Stand!

There is an epidemic today that is spreading through our churches.  This is not an increase in cancer, it is not an increase of drug use, and it is not an increase in alcoholism (although all of these seem to be increasing in churches).  The real epidemic we are seeing is a lack of believers who know what the Bible says.  For Christians who will stand for what is right from the Word of God.  God makes a simple, but clear and powerful statement that I want you to consider today.  “For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not My law” (Proverbs 4:2).

We have seen a shift today in our churches away from sound, foundational teaching of the truths of the Word of God and to the “hot topics” of our day.  In other words, we have left the precious Word of God – the book the Holy Spirit of God breathed into the hearts of faithful men – the book that has approximately forty human authors … written over about a 1,500 year span of time … from three different continents … in three different languages … with NO CONTRADICTIONS – we have left the fundamental doctrines found in this book so that we can cover the issues found on the front page of USA Today newspaper.

The challenge simply put in the second verse of Proverbs chapter four is to live within the doctrine in the law of God.  God wants us to park in these truths and never move from them.  To drive the stakes deeply into the good soil of the Word of God and not allow the winds of life and the storms that will come to pull those stakes out for some other “greener” spot!  God gave us these sixty-six books and every word in them for our good.  He gave them to us to form the foundation for our lives that every other opinion we might form, every other preference we would have in our lives would spring from that good doctrinal foundation!

What does the Bible teach about God / Jesus / the Holy Spirit / you / your sin / angels / the Bible / the Devil / the church / the future?  If you have questions about these issues, run to the Bible to find the answers.  Attend a church that faithfully preaches/teaches on these very important truths, using the Bible as their foundation.  If you are going to a church that devotes more time to music and “worship” than to the clear teaching of the Word of God, you need to ask yourself if you are in obedience to this simple verse today.  Let me encourage you to search the Scriptures yourself to find this doctrine the writer of Proverbs was talking about.  Get into the Book today!

Without the WORD of God there is no WORK of God.” – Dr. Ted Camp
