Week 35 – Always Be Willing To Accept The Truth

Always Be Willing to Accept the Truth

“Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” –Galatians 4:16

It seems that some people simply want a liar who will agree with them. When the kings went to battle they rejected the truth and sought a liar. “ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?” (1 Kings 22:18). The kings wanted a liar because they did not want the truth. Just because people agree with you it does not mean that it is true. Truth does not change or alter but it will always remain truth. You can approach truth from any angle or with any opinions but it will still remain truth. Truth challenged will still remain true. It seems that many in the church and ministries today want someone to lie to them, to change the truth to a lie for their convenience and peace of mind. You cannot weaken truth or whitewash truth. Truth is truth.

Throughout the Bible people lean toward those who agree with them. People choose sides in regards to a truth or a lie. Did you notice that the people never went to Moses but went to Aaron who had weaker leadership. They knew Moses would give them the unwanted truth and Aaron would agree with them. The Pharisees sided with the Scribes in opposing the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ. It seems that some enemies become friends because of common enemies. Truth can separate you from those who disagree with you. It seems more popular to side with false multitudes than to stand with then few in truth. Thousands may disagree with truth but it still remains truth. “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator” (Romans 1:25).

Truth does not conflict with truth, but only proves it. You may not like the weight scale but it tells you the truth. Some times if it is broken it tells you a lie that pleases you very much. You feel better but it does not change the truth of your actual weight. You can change label from poison to candy but it is still poison. Your life and ministry should be based upon the truth of God’s Word. When others want a liar you should give them the truth.
